The dining room walls were painted with a subtle faux finish over the red paint. The walls were then striped with gold leaf, and the tray ceiling was gilded with gold leaf. (The chandelier was replaced, also.) |

The homeowner wanted an urban theme for the room, so faux cement block, using textured paint and trompe l'oeil techniques, was painted over the existing drywall, and graffiti was later added. |

The homeowner chose an unusual brecciated marble to be painted on the stairs and these columns. Though unique, the faux marble transforms the feeling of the room, and the addition of new wrought iron balusters completes the look. |
